Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA)
During the four year contract, Capita Communications provided the following services to support the administration of the EMA:
Capita Financial Group
Capita Communications has provided the Capita Financial Group (CFG) with an e-delivery solution. IFA statements are no longer mailed to advisers, but are made available on a secure web portal. An email is sent to the IFA containing a link to their statements. This has helped CFG to:
The Co-operative Financial Services
Capita Communications rationalised The Co-operative Financial Services' multiple maturities documents over to a one document, white paper solution, reducing print and production costs by more than 50%. As a result the client has:
Capita Wellbeing and Health
Capita Communications supports Capita Wellbeing and Health, across its businesses in the production of welcome letters for NHS Membership Services, patient questionnaires and correspondence for NHS Business Services Authority and pay statements and marketing collateral for NHS Choices. Our support covering print management, transactional mailings, data and data management has assisted Capita Wellbeing and Health to:
Southampton City Council
Capita Communications introduced its OneM@il® solution for the Revenues Department at Southampton City Council (SCC) to improve the printing and mailing process of the team’s day to day customer correspondence. OneM@il™ helped SCC benefit from:
“It’s been a fantastic success. It means that our revenue assistants can get on with the job they were employed to do.” Caroline McMullen, Revenues Manager, Capita Local Government Services.

Swindon Borough Council
Capita Communications helped Swindon Borough Council achieve 20% savings by replacing inefficient desktop printers with fit for purpose multi-functional devices (MFDs) which offer combined printing, scanning, photocopying and faxing facilities. Using a cost per click costing model, the Council had better visibility of print spend – and parameters set up on the devices helped to protect data security.
“Everybody worked very hard to make this work. The changes we’ve made will help us operate more sustainably in the long run – and we’re already on course to hit our savings targets.” David Titcombe, Swindon Borough Council.
Birmingham City Council
In partnership with Birmingham City Council, Capita Communications introduced an electronic quarantine system for its Revenues’ Summons processes. This meant that the Council could view and delete documents on-line before printing and mailing (for example, when charge-payers have paid, had their summons withdrawn or made an arrangement).
In introducing electronic quarantine, the Council has been able to reduce the costs of unnecessary print and postage as well as inbound calls and complaints from unhappy or concerned customers – so helping to improve the reputation of the service.
The Gas Safe Register
Capita Communications helped The Gas Safe Register streamline its mailing processes, implement secure printing methods and introduce e-Delivery for certificates. This resulted in the maximisation of staff resources, improved service levels and a 20% saving on annual postage costs.
"It's about continual improvement and good old fashioned customer service. The streamling of this one process has saved us a lot of time, energy and expense, whilst at the same time improving the end result for the customer." Simon Ayers, The Gas Safe Register.
